Role Overview
We are currently looking for an experienced and meticulous Data Quality Engineer (Automation) to join our data engineering team. Candidates should possess a strong foundation in ETL automation, data warehouse testing, and cloud data services, along with practical experience in test automation frameworks and continuous integration/delivery methodologies.
Responsibilities
- Create, build, and execute automated test scripts aimed at verifying ETL workflows and data pipelines.
- Conduct comprehensive data validation, reconciliation, and testing of data warehouses/databases involving extensive datasets.
- Work collaboratively with data engineers, analysts, and other stakeholders to define testing strategies and uphold data quality standards.
- Develop robust, reusable, and scalable test automation frameworks using SQL and Python.
- Incorporate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to facilitate continuous testing and delivery.
- Verify data transformation logic and ensure completeness across various cloud environments including Azure, AWS, and GCP.
- Engage in Agile development processes, participating in sprint planning, retrospectives, and backlog refinement.
Requirements
- A minimum of 3 years’ practical experience in Data Quality Engineering.
- Proficient in ETL automation and testing of Data Warehouses or Data Lakes.
- Strong SQL skills used for data validation and automating tests.
- Experienced in Python scripting and developing frameworks.
- Familiarity with at least one test automation framework.
- Knowledge of cloud data services such as Azure Data Factory (ADF), Azure Databricks (ADB), AWS Glue, Lambda, Redshift, or Google BigQuery.
- Understanding of CI/CD tools like Jenkins, Git, and Azure DevOps.
- Experience working within Agile/Scrum teams and ceremonies.
- English language proficiency at an upper-intermediate (B2) level or higher.
Preferred Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with data observability or quality platforms such as Great Expectations or Deequ.
- Basic knowledge of data governance and metadata management principles.
- Certifications related to cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) are advantageous.
- Experience in big data testing is beneficial.
Additional Information
This position specifically targets Data Quality Engineering roles and not traditional Data Engineering roles. The work arrangement follows a hybrid model with three days required onsite each week at offices located in Chennai, Coimbatore, Bangalore, Gurgaon, Hyderabad, or Pune.
Interview Details: In-person interviews are scheduled for 19th September 2026 (Saturday) at EPAM offices in Hyderabad and Bangalore.
Key Technical Skills: Proficiency in ETL Testing, Data Validation, advanced SQL, Python automation testing, Pytest, Pandas, PySpark, Unittest, and experience with any major cloud platform.
