Project Overview

Bechtel has been managing the Jubail project in the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia since the 1970s, serving as the Management Services Contractor (MSC) for the Royal Commission (RC). The scope includes design oversight and construction management for various major developments, with a renewed contract extending to June 2026 plus five additional years focusing on new community and infrastructure projects.

Job Summary

The BIM Specialist will lead the implementation of Building Information Modeling (BIM) processes to ensure efficient project delivery. This role entails management of cross-functional collaboration environments, BIM/CAD model development and coordination, compliance with Project BIM Execution Plans, and promoting innovation within the project team.

Responsibilities

• Develop and review BIM strategies, requirements, and Execution Plans aligned with project goals.
• Coordinate BIM activities, including systems, templates, clash detection, and design reviews among subcontractors.
• Support BIM production, maintaining common data environments, federating models, managing interference, and ensuring quality of deliverables.
• Standardize BIM workflows and communication for stakeholders across design, construction, and project management.
• Create and enhance processes for BIM/3D model quality checks against project standards.
• Maintain Exchange Information Requirements and train project teams on ProjectWise and BIM workflows.
• Develop workflows for interoperability between BIM/CAD and GIS to support various construction-related processes.
• Conduct compliance assessments, capture lessons learned, and recommend improvements.
• Serve as liaison between client, delivery team, and IT for BIM-related issue resolution.
• Manage work in alignment with project procedures and information requirements.
• Establish standard procedures for model-based quantity take-offs and construction quantity reporting.
• Support design and construction reviews, coordination, and issue tracking.
• Perform site visits to facilitate BIM discussions and implementation.
• Provide operational support to BIM coordinators across engineering consultants and subcontractors.
• Participate in team knowledge sharing, training, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Develop 4D simulation processes integrating BIM models with construction schedules.
• Create processes linking BIM models and quantity take-off templates for progress tracking and reporting.
• Ensure compliance with information standards such as ISO19650.
• Document lessons learned and manage workflow enhancements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Between 8 to 14 years of experience in BIM/CAD or technology management within design and construction environments.
• Strong communication skills to articulate BIM and technology solutions to diverse professional audiences, including client presentations.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and Civil3D.
• Experience with collaboration and data management software such as iTwin, Navisworks, Synchro, and BIM-enabled estimating tools like Assemble and CostOS.
• Understanding of project delivery methods including Design-Bid-Build, Design/Build, Integrated Project Delivery (IPD), and LEAN principles.
• Familiarity with design, estimation, construction administration, and coordination workflows.
• Knowledge of Common Data Environment platforms including ProjectWise and ACC/BIM360.

Additional Information

This role requires relocation authorization for international candidates and is designated as single status. It involves full-time onsite work at the Jubail location.
