Job Location and Schedule

This position is based at Itawamba Community College - Fulton Campus. Shifts and workdays vary, with an emphasis on availability for multiple shifts. Specific shift details will be discussed during the interview phase.

Position Overview

Join Sodexo as a Baker where your primary responsibility will be crafting baked goods using standardized recipes and adhering to culinary quality standards. You will ensure all pastries and baking creations meet the highest benchmarks in taste and presentation to delight guests. Duties may vary by account needs and Sodexo's operational demands.

Key Responsibilities

• Consult production schedules daily and prepare a range of bakery items such as breads, muffins, cakes, rolls, biscuits, and pastries from scratch following Sodexo recipes.
• Precisely measure and weigh ingredients, mix dough or batter manually or mechanically, shape dough appropriately, and bake products systematically.
• Manage baking equipment by controlling oven temperatures and baking durations, ensuring food is held and served at correct temperatures.
• Organize and stock the bakery area, maintain the inventory through proper product storage, rotation, labeling, and dating, and uphold cleanliness and order in the workspace.
• Demonstrate careful attention to detail by handling special customer requests and guaranteeing only premium quality baked products are delivered.
• Physical requirements include frequent walking, handling and sensory skills (touch, taste, smell), standing for prolonged shifts possibly exceeding eight hours, as well as capability to lift weights up to 35 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Maintain punctual attendance and reliability for assigned shifts.
• Perform other related duties as required based on business demands and client specifications.

Qualifications and Experience

• Possession of a High School diploma, GED, or equivalent experience is necessary.
• Relevant experience ranging from none to one year is acceptable, with preference given to those having prior bakery or pastry specialization.

Compensation

Rate of pay falls between $13 and $15 per hour.
