Job Overview
The Assistant Resident Manager is tasked with overseeing daily functions of designated apartment buildings. This includes cleaning common areas, administrative duties, light maintenance, and ensuring excellent tenant service.
Primary Responsibilities
- Maintain cleanliness of shared building spaces by sweeping, mopping, dusting, cleaning glass and chrome, treating carpet stains, and refreshing air quality.
- Support unit turnover by thoroughly cleaning apartments after tenant move-out to ensure readiness for new occupants.
- Perform seasonal outdoor maintenance tasks such as raking, flower bed care, snow removal, salting walkways, minor repairs, and upkeep tasks.
- Manage waste disposal areas by emptying garbage containers and cleaning surrounding dumpsters.
- Assist with administrative responsibilities including handling applications, leases, inspections, rent collection, deposit processing, tenant correspondence, and maintaining rental office organization.
- Manage apartment building communications by answering phone calls, tracking rental inquiries, and promoting tenant satisfaction through professional customer service.
Qualifications and Skills
- Completion of high school or equivalent plus at least three years of relevant cleaning experience.
- Proficiency with computer applications such as Word, Excel, email, and internet browsing.
- Knowledge of local policies, municipal by-laws, provincial legislation including Residential Tenancy Act, Building and Fire Codes, and Occupational Health and Safety regulations is advantageous.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and to perform tasks involving bending, pushing, pulling, and stair navigation.
Compensation and Benefits
- Annual remuneration of $40,460, inclusive of rent for the company-provided apartment.
- Utilities and parking expenses are covered by the employer.
