Job Location and Type
This role is based in Port Elgin, Ontario, Canada. It is a full-time position involving onsite responsibilities with a rotating schedule, including weekends and on-call availability.
Compensation and Benefits
- Annual remuneration of $40,400, which includes rent for a provided apartment.
- Utilities and parking expenses are covered.

Role Overview
The Assistant Resident Manager oversees daily operations in assigned apartment buildings, ensuring cleanliness, managing light maintenance, handling administrative duties, and delivering excellent service to tenants.
Key Duties
- Perform routine cleaning and upkeep of common areas, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, cleaning glass and chrome surfaces, treating stains on carpets, and using air fresheners.
- Assist in preparing units after tenant move-outs by thoroughly cleaning floors, bathrooms, surfaces, and windows to ensure unit readiness for new tenants.
- Conduct seasonal outdoor maintenance tasks such as grounds raking, flower bed care, snow removal, salting walkways, small repairs, and minor maintenance as needed.
- Manage waste by emptying garbage containers and cleaning around dumpster areas.
- Support administrative functions, including processing applications, leases, move-in and move-out inspections, maintaining rental office organization, assisting with rent collection and deposits, sending tenant notices, and managing correspondence through email, filing, and faxing.
- Help in building management by monitoring rental inquiry calls, tracking interested parties, and maintaining high tenant satisfaction through positive customer service interactions.
Candidate Qualifications
- Completion of high school or equivalent, or at least three years of relevant cleaning experience.
- Proficiency in computer applications such as Word, Excel, and internet/email usage is required.
- Familiarity with regional policies, industry standards, municipal by-laws, and relevant legislation including the Residential Tenancy Act, Building and Fire Codes, and the Occupational Health and Safety Act is advantageous.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, perform bending, pushing, pulling actions, and navigate stairs.
