Milaha is dedicated to providing top-notch Health, Safety, Environment, Security, and Quality (HSSEQ) services, maintaining strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations in all aspects of their operations.
Role Overview
The Assistant Manager in HSSEQ will be tasked with overseeing the delivery of these essential services, ensuring compliance through evaluation processes, and supporting site-specific training initiatives when assigned.
Responsibilities
- Implement and verify the effectiveness of technical procedures, specialized manuals, and documentation forms.
- Assess work processes and performance at designated sites relative to set targets.
- Oversee and coordinate activities related to ISO international standards.
- Conduct thorough investigations and properly document any HSSEQ incidents that occur.
- Provide expert technical advice to operational leadership.
- Quantify compliance levels and the application of HSSEQ standards at assigned locations.
- Manage and evaluate the performance of subordinate employees.
- Engage in HSE committees at business unit or site levels.
- Carry out additional duties as delegated.
Qualifications
- Possess a 3-year full-time degree in Health and Safety from an accredited institution; or
- A 3-year full-time degree coupled with a 2-year graduate diploma in Health and Safety; or
- A 3-year full-time degree plus NEBOSH Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety; or
- A 3-year full-time degree and Chartered membership of IOSH.
Required Skills
- Between 3 to 5 years of relevant professional experience, including a minimum of 3 years in the health, safety, and environment field within heavy industry sectors.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and common web-based applications.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
Preferred Qualifications
- Auditor credentials, ideally with Lead Auditor status for ISO accreditation processes.
- Certification in Root Cause Analysis methodologies.
- Training and assessment qualification at Level 4 or beyond.
- Valid First Aid certification.
