Asset Protection Representative

About the Role

Join one of Canada's most respected Asset Protection teams at Loblaw Companies Limited and contribute directly to the safety of our business, staff, and customers. This position involves frontline retail security duties aimed at maintaining a secure shopping environment by actively identifying and preventing theft and fraud in busy grocery and pharmacy locations.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain a visible and professional presence within the store to deter theft, fraud, and policy violations.
• Confidently and lawfully detain individuals suspected of wrongdoing, adhering to company policies and legal requirements.
• Carry out thorough investigations internally and externally, collect and analyze evidence, and collaborate with law enforcement as necessary.
• Work with store leadership to detect patterns in loss and establish effective prevention measures.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, security procedures, and applicable provincial laws.
• Adapt to a dynamic and fast-moving environment with a flexible schedule, responding promptly to challenges.

Qualifications and Experience

• Hold a valid Provincial Security Guard License and be knowledgeable about Canada’s Criminal Code, Trespass to Property Act, and related legislation.
• Familiarity with CCTV, other surveillance technologies, and Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Present oneself with approachability, confidence, respect, and strong communication capabilities.
• Demonstrate integrity, accountability, and a proactive approach to resolving issues.
• Experience in grocery, pharmacy, or other high-volume retail environments is an advantage.
