About the Role

Loblaw Companies Limited invites you to join our extensive Asset Protection team at the Real Canadian Superstore in Burnaby, BC (#1105-4700 Kingsway). As an Asset Protection Representative, your focus will be on safeguarding our store environment to ensure a safe and enjoyable shopping experience. You will collaborate with store management and local law enforcement to reduce product loss and enhance security awareness among staff and customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Prevent, identify, and address incidents of theft and fraud within retail premises.
• Work alongside fellow Asset Protection Representatives to investigate organized retail crime at provincial or national levels.
• Maintain active communication with local police services for ongoing security and investigation matters.
• Conduct internal inquiries, gather evidence, and prepare documentation for legal or arbitration processes.
• Recognize and report opportunities to reduce shrinkage through operational compliance.
• Strengthen store partnerships by engaging in management meetings and coaching colleagues on asset protection policies and procedures.
• Take part in store audits to ensure adherence to security standards.
• Engage in community events to promote safety and awareness.
• Be flexible with working hours, including days, evenings, nights, and weekends, maintaining a 40-hour work week.

Qualifications and Skills Required

• Possession of a valid Provincial Security Guard License is mandatory.
• Basic knowledge of the Criminal Code of Canada, Trespass to Property Act, Powers of Arrest, and familiarity with CCTV/surveillance systems.
• Proficiency in Windows applications such as Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• A professional, approachable, and courteous manner.
• Demonstrated initiative and integrity to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced retail setting.
