Overview
Join Transpower New Zealand as an Asset Portfolio Performance Advisor, where your expertise will play a vital role in guiding New Zealand's electricity grid towards a net-zero carbon future. This position offers the opportunity to influence asset decisions, enhance analytical capabilities, and help manage more than $5 billion in critical grid assets.
About the Team
The Integrated Planning group ensures safe, reliable, and cost-effective management of Transpower’s grid assets via long-term planning, lifecycle costing, and risk-informed decision-making. Within Asset Planning, the Portfolio Performance team focuses on assurance and reporting for asset and maintenance portfolios, delivering clarity to leadership on performance throughout the asset lifecycle.
Role Responsibilities
- Transform asset data into actionable insights to detect trends shaping New Zealand’s electricity grid.
- Provide support for performance reporting and analytical insights across asset and maintenance portfolios.
- Develop and refine reporting frameworks, performance metrics, and dashboards related to project completion, costs, data integrity, scope fulfillment, and progress tracking.
- Collaborate with Portfolio Owners and Leads to investigate issues, monitor delivery progress, and contribute to informed asset management decisions.
- Work alongside technical, delivery, corporate teams, and external engineering consultants to identify challenges and foster continuous improvement.
- Assess outcomes of asset and maintenance portfolios to promote evidence-based decision-making.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will exhibit strong asset management knowledge with a background in technical asset management environments. They will possess an analytical mindset, capable of identifying trends and areas for improvement within complex data sets. Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams are essential.
Qualifications and Skills
- Proven experience in asset management, preferably within a technical framework or team.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities focused on recognizing patterns and improvement opportunities.
- Proficient in data analysis and developing insight-driven reports.
- Experience with reporting and data visualization tools, such as Power BI, Excel, Python, AMPS, Maximo, or equivalents.
- Excellent written and verbal communication capabilities.
- Relevant qualifications in engineering, technical studies, analytics, business, or asset management.
