Overview
Transpower New Zealand invites applications for a Senior Asset Portfolio Performance Advisor role based in Wellington or Christchurch. This position supports Transpower’s mission to enable a net-zero carbon economy and maintain a reliable electricity system by empowering informed, data-driven asset management decisions across critical infrastructure portfolios.
About the Team
The Integrated Planning group focuses on ensuring the grid's safe, reliable, and economic asset performance through strategic long-term planning and analysis. The Portfolio Performance team delivers insights on asset, maintenance, resilience, and sustainability portfolios to guide investment, delivery, and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead performance reporting across asset, maintenance, resilience, and sustainability portfolios.
- Analyze portfolio delivery, costs, risks, service, and asset condition to uncover issues and opportunities.
- Provide advisory support to Portfolio Owners and Leads to adjust plans, priorities, or investments as needed.
- Contribute to regulatory submissions, budgeting, assurance, and continuous improvement initiatives through data-driven recommendations.
- Enhance reporting frameworks, data integrity, measurement approaches, and governance for reliable leadership decisions.
Candidate Profile
Ideal candidates will bring substantial asset management expertise, especially in sectors like infrastructure, energy, utilities, or telecommunications, complemented by relevant technical or asset management qualifications. Candidates should demonstrate proficiency in risk-based decision making, asset lifecycle management, asset health and criticality assessments, and investment prioritization.
Strong analytical and reporting skills are necessary, including the development of frameworks and data sets that yield clear portfolio insights. Experience with tools such as Power BI, Python, and Maximo or similar platforms is advantageous. Excellent commercial awareness and the ability to communicate complex information effectively to diverse stakeholders are essential.
