Job description
Overview
The Architect will lead the planning, designing, and oversight of architectural projects from initial concept through to final completion. This role requires collaboration with clients, engineers, consultants, contractors, and project teams to deliver designs that are functional, visually appealing, safe, and compliant with regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop architectural concepts including layouts, plans, elevations, and detailed drawings.
- Convert client requirements and project goals into viable design solutions.
- Prepare and critically review architectural drawings, specifications, schedules, and documentation.
- Coordinate architectural designs alongside structural, civil, mechanical, electrical, and other disciplines.
- Conduct site visits, surveys, inspections, and assessments to inform design decisions.
- Evaluate shop drawings, material submissions, samples, and construction details.
- Ensure all designs conform to building codes, regulations, and safety standards.
- Collaborate with clients, consultants, contractors, suppliers, and regulatory authorities.
- Detect design conflicts, technical challenges, construction defects, and necessary revisions.
- Oversee architectural work quality and adherence to approved designs during construction.
- Address requests for information (RFIs), technical questions, change requests, and site issues promptly.
- Assist with submissions for permits, approvals, and fulfill regulatory requirements.
- Prepare design presentations, project reports, inspection documentation, and technical papers.
- Support value engineering, sustainable design practices, and cost-effective architectural solutions.
- Maintain high standards of design quality, functionality, aesthetics, and safety throughout projects.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture or related discipline.
- Relevant professional experience in architectural design, construction, consulting, or project development.
- Solid understanding of architectural principles, construction techniques, materials, and detailing.
- Demonstrated ability in preparing drawings, specifications, layouts, and construction documentation.
- Proficiency in design software including AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, 3D Max, or comparable tools.
- Familiarity with building codes, regulations, and local authority requirements.
- Capability to effectively coordinate with structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing (MEP), and civil engineering teams.
- Strong creative and technical problem-solving abilities with excellent attention to detail.
- Effective communication, presentation, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines reliably.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and other architectural software tools.
- Professional demeanor with organized, reliable, and proactive work habits.
