Role Overview

We are inviting an experienced Application Engineering Manager for the EMEA region to join our Middle East Engineering Team based in Dubai, UAE. This leadership role emphasizes technical direction and team management within power distribution solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a team of application engineers specializing in medium voltage and low voltage switchgear, busway, transformers, and modular products, ensuring top-tier technical support during all project phases including FEED, quotation, and execution.
• Translate technical demands into comprehensive Eaton solutions, including modular systems, SCADA, PLCs, and packaged substations, while understanding the complete value chain.
• Ensure strict compliance with IEC 62271 standards and specific client requirements, including internal arc ratings, CT/VT selection, relay protection, and arc venting.
• Work collaboratively with internal teams such as tendering, sales, business development, and custom order engineering to promote technical sales of PDS equipment.
• Maintain technical quality and uniformity during the quotation process, delivering solutions that are competitive and compliant across multiple engineering domains.
• Engage with external partners including EPCs, consulting engineers, CSOs, and channel partners to boost Eaton's presence in the data center market and influence specification development.
• Assist in pipeline growth through targeted technical demand generation and strategic business development partnerships.
• Analyze market trends and risks within key sectors like utilities and data centers to inform product feature enhancements and new product development.
• Manage multiple parallel projects, ensuring technical feasibility, prompt resolution of clarifications, and alignment with client expectations.
• Provide expert advice on third-party equipment and prepare technical RFQs to ensure compliance and cost-efficiency for non-Eaton products.
• Develop consultant specifications and technical documentation to broaden Eaton's involvement in data center projects.
• Guarantee seamless handoffs to quotation, order management, and manufacturing teams while preserving technical accuracy throughout projects.
• Lead the Application Engineering Committee and promote standardization via digital application guides and smart collaborative digital environments.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to both customers and internal stakeholders by resolving complex technical challenges and defining application strategies across utilities, data center, CI&I and industrial segments.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering with knowledge in electro-mechanics is mandatory.
• At least 7–10 years of experience in the electrical industry including a minimum of 3 years in leadership roles.
• Proven application engineering expertise with LV/MV switchgear, transformers, and modular solution products.
• In-depth technical understanding of LV/MV switchgear systems and familiarity with transformers, generators, and packaged substations.
• Knowledge of data center and utility applications, engineering calculations, manufacturing processes, and the commercial aspects of project execution.
• Industry certifications such as Uptime Institute Design or TIA-942 are desirable.
• Strong leadership capabilities, creative problem-solving, customer focus, and excellent communication skills.
• Experience managing multicultural teams and collaborating across regional and functional lines.
• Highly organized with strong presentation, communication, and time management skills; capable of multitasking under pressure and meeting tight deadlines.
