Role Overview

The BidManager Interface & AI Specialist for EMEA is tasked with developing and sustaining the connections, data models, and automation capabilities linking BidManager with external engineering and digital platforms, primarily focusing on EPLAN integration and AI-powered specification analysis. This position is the technical authority for the interoperability between BidManager and EPLAN, facilitating automated engineering outputs and sophisticated macros derived from BidManager configurations.

Simultaneously, the specialist supports the Spec Reader AI initiative by designing AI rules, prompts, business logic, and data formats to automate the interpretation of specifications and streamline proposal generation. This role collaborates extensively with business units, product management, engineering, BidManager specialists, and IT to deliver synchronized, scalable, and dependable solutions that enhance engineering workflow, drive sales efficiency, and foster digital transformation across EMEA.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead development and upkeep of the ECC Translator framework linking BidManager outputs with EPLAN and other engineering tools.
• Create and manage data mappings, translation algorithms, and interface configurations to support automated data interchange between BidManager and EPLAN.
• Develop, refine, and optimize complex EPLAN macros generated from BidManager settings, adhering to engineering standards for accuracy and scalability.
• Work with engineering, product management, and business units to define and standardize interface standards to enable comprehensive design automation.
• Maintain coherent product, commercial, and technical data synchronization among BidManager, EPLAN, and related platforms.
• Serve as AI subject matter expert for the Spec Reader project, crafting AI prompts, rules, business logic, and validation approaches.
• Define and uphold structured BidManager attributes and metadata frameworks crucial for scalable AI-based specification analysis.
• Collaborate with the BidManager team to establish data governance and optimize content for AI processing and Spec Reader deployment.
• Design, test, and enhance prompt engineering methods to improve the precision, robustness, and scalability of AI outputs.
• Support AI model deployment, validation mechanisms, and feedback collection to continuously enhance Spec Reader efficacy.
• Develop test strategies, conduct validations, and coordinate user acceptance tests for interface and AI solution enhancements.
• Offer advanced technical support for integration, interface, and AI-related challenges, including root cause investigation and corrective measures.
• Partner with IT, Digital, and Engineering departments to explore automation, process enhancements, and user experience improvements across EMEA sales and engineering platforms.
• Drive continuous digitalization and improvement initiatives to reduce manual tasks and improve proposal quality, engineering efficiency, and sales performance.
• Act as the subject matter expert on BidManager integrations, engineering automation, and AI-enabled specification analysis.
• Own assigned platforms and AI solutions to deliver business value and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, Business, or related discipline.
• At least 3 years of experience in software or database development.

Skills and Expertise

• In-depth knowledge of BidManager architecture, configuration, and data structures.
• Familiarity with EPLAN’s data frameworks, engineering automation, and macro development.
• Experience with ECC Translator frameworks and engineering data exchange methods.
• Proficiency in system integrations involving APIs, middleware, and data translation tools.
• Strong grasp of AI technologies, including prompt engineering, large language models, and business rule formulation.
• Experience in defining structured data models and metadata to support AI solutions.
• Understanding of CPQ, ERP, CRM, SAP, and digital sales systems.
• Capability to analyze complex business and engineering needs and convert them into scalable digital solutions.
• Knowledge of validation, testing methodologies, and quality assurance processes.
