Job description
Role Overview
The Product Data Steward is accountable for managing the product master data lifecycle within SAP for specific divisions, delivering critical support to Local Business Process Owners (LBPOs), Field Product Marketing teams, and Product Managers. This role involves handling product creation, updates, and enrichment tasks in alignment with established business workflows and data governance policies to ensure high-quality, consistent product data that facilitates smooth business operations and supports Eaton's governance goals across the EMEA region.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain product master records in SAP, including creation, modification, and discontinuation of products.
- Assist LBPOs, FPMs, and Product Managers by processing data requests promptly and accurately.
- Manage product extensions to plants and various sales organizations within SAP.
- Administer sales and distribution data views and maintain sales-related product texts in SAP.
- Support cross-company product extensions and data migration initiatives.
- Conduct data quality audits, monitor and rectify SAP master data anomalies to uphold accuracy and completeness.
- Drive data cleansing and harmonization projects according to SAP data governance standards.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of master data processes and support new product introduction procedures.
- Collaborate with stakeholders and respond to master data queries within defined timeframes.
- Contribute to ongoing process improvements and ensure a customer-centric approach in data management operations.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (BE/B.Tech).
- Demonstrated 1 to 3 years of hands-on experience with SAP ERP, particularly in master data management.
- Excellent communication capabilities in English, both oral and written.
- Strong analytical skills for data interpretation and problem-solving.
- Effective interpersonal and planning competencies.
- Meticulous attention to detail and adherence to ethical standards.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language is considered a significant advantage.
- Familiarity with Bidmanager, SolidWorks, and AutoCAD software tools is a plus.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and SAP Master Data Management processes.
