Role Overview
The Business Development Manager for Power Distribution will drive growth across Eaton’s product range in Ireland, including low voltage power distribution, medium voltage, power quality, and life safety products. The focus is on identifying new opportunities, fostering strong customer and influencer relationships, generating demand, supporting product specification, and solidifying Eaton as a preferred supplier of safe, reliable, and sustainable electrical infrastructure solutions.
This position blends commercial acumen with technical knowledge of low voltage power distribution and broadens to include medium voltage, power quality, and life safety portfolios. It is open to candidates from contractor, panel builder, consultant, distributor, manufacturer, or related electrical industry backgrounds.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain relationships with electrical consulting engineers, building services consultants, design practices, technical end users, main and specialist contractors to influence Eaton solution specifications across a broad portfolio including low and medium voltage distribution, power quality, life safety, energy management, power monitoring, surge protection, and EV infrastructure.
- Identify and cultivate early project opportunities throughout Ireland, creating and managing a sustainable sales pipeline using Salesforce and developing territory and target account strategies.
- Provide expert consultation on power distribution system architecture, diagrams, protection, resilience, power quality, sustainability, and energy efficiency, including delivering CPD presentations, workshops, and training sessions while advising on relevant standards and regulations.
- Protect Eaton’s specifications through competitive tender and procurement processes by communicating the company’s value around safety, reliability, sustainability, cost lifecycle, digitalization, and energy resilience.
- Collaborate internally with sales engineers, application engineers, marketing, product management, channel sales, contractors, and distribution partners to ensure smooth project transitions and maintain accurate Salesforce data on projects and accounts.

Required Qualifications and Skills
- Experience with low voltage power distribution equipment such as switchgear, switchboards, circuit protection, or similar electrical infrastructure.
- At least three years in an electrical industry sales role, ideally involving technical, project, contractor, panel builder, consultant, or channel-based sales.
- Proven ability to build strong relationships and influence contractors, panel builders, or consultants.
- Strong commercial insight to identify, develop, and close sales opportunities.
Preferred and Advantageous Attributes
- Exposure to medium voltage solutions.
- Experience with specification selling, consultant engagement, or project-based sales cycles.
- Familiarity with digital sales tools and CRM platforms such as Salesforce.

- Technical expertise in power distribution systems, electrical design, building services infrastructure, relevant standards, legislation, and digital power monitoring/energy management.
- Commercial skills including opportunity identification, account planning, strategic selling, CRM management, and pipeline development.

Additional Information
- Reports to C&I Sales Leader.
- Regular travel across Ireland to meet with customers is required.
