Job description
Role Overview
We are seeking a proficient Ansible expert to join us on a contract basis at our Cork office. The successful candidate will demonstrate comprehensive skills in automating IT processes using Ansible, helping to streamline our configuration management, patching, deployment, and infrastructure provisioning efforts.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement modular and reusable Ansible playbooks along with role-based project structures.
- Exhibit deep expertise in YAML syntax, Jinja2 templating, and Ansible inventory management.
- Optionally, develop custom Ansible modules, filters, or plugins to extend automation functionality.
- Oversee and manage large-scale automation initiatives including configuration management, patch application, software deployment, and provisioning of infrastructure resources.
Required Skills and Expertise
- Strong command over writing reusable and modular Ansible playbooks.
- Advanced knowledge of YAML and templating using Jinja2.
- Experience managing Ansible inventories effectively.
- Ability to automate configuration, patching, deployments, and infrastructure provisioning at scale.
- Optional but advantageous: experience developing custom Ansible modules, filters, or plugins.
