Role Overview

The AI Solutions Architect is a pivotal technical pre-sales role within regional AI teams, collaborating closely with AI Solutions Executives and AI Services Consultants. This position involves translating customer needs into comprehensive AI solution designs and technical proposals that differentiate WWT in competitive scenarios. The architect must adeptly whiteboard end-to-end AI infrastructures, oversee proof-of-concepts in WWT's Advanced Technology Center, and ensure feasible, accurately scoped handoffs to delivery teams. This is a revenue-focused role, distinct from post-sales engineering or delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the technical partner to AI Solutions Executives during client engagements, providing architectural insights and solution validation.
• Transform customer business challenges into AI architectures including GPU/compute infrastructure, data platforms, AI/ML frameworks, networking, storage, and applications.
• Create and present technical proposals, reference architectures, and proof-of-concept plans; conduct technical evaluations of readiness concerning environment, workload, and integration complexity.
• Develop detailed bills of materials, sizing models, and configuration specs in partnership with global architecture teams.
• Manage ATC lab environments, proof-of-concept activities, customer immersion sessions, and lead technical execution including benchmarking and performance reporting.
• Collaborate directly with NVIDIA teams on GPU design validation and software stack integration.
• Partner with cloud and infrastructure providers (AWS, Azure, GCP, Dell, HPE, Cisco, NetApp, Pure Storage, Vast Data) to design hybrid and multi-cloud AI architectures.
• Ensure smooth transition from pre-sales to delivery by verifying architecture feasibility, scope accuracy, documentation, and engaging in SOW validation.
• Participate as an integral team member in weekly meetings, pipeline reviews, and account planning.
• Provide AI technical training and enablement sessions to empower field teams in qualifying AI opportunities.

Required Qualifications

• Over 10 years' experience in technical pre-sales, solutions architecture, or advanced engineering in a solutions provider, OEM, cloud provider, or consulting environment.
• Hands-on expertise in designing AI/ML infrastructure including end-to-end GPU cluster architecture, networking, storage, software stacks, MLOps pipelines, and inference deployment.
• Proficient knowledge of NVIDIA DGX/HGX systems, CUDA, AI Enterprise software, and partner integrations.
• Experience with AI workloads across on-premises, cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP), and hybrid platforms, including familiarity with NCP models, GPU-as-a-service, and sovereign AI infrastructure.
• Strong ability to convey technical details into business-relevant presentations, with exceptional whiteboarding and communication skills.
• Comfortable working in a revenue-driven pre-sales context to help advance sales opportunities.
• Demonstrated experience collaborating in co-selling frameworks involving sales specialists, account teams, and partner engineers.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related discipline.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certifications such as NVIDIA AI/ML platform credentials and cloud architecture (AWS SA Pro, Azure Solutions Architect, GCP PCA).
• Experience with top-tier solutions providers, OEMs, or cloud vendors.
• Expertise in designing enterprise-scale AI Factory or GPU cluster architectures.
• Familiarity with the Advanced Technology Center’s lab-driven sales approach.
• Advanced degree in technology, analytics, or business fields.
