Project Engineer - Strategic Highways Operation & Maintenance (Bridges & Highway Structures)

Role Summary

We are looking for a meticulous and experienced Project Engineer specialized in Bridges & Highway Structures Operation & Maintenance to join our Doha-based team. This long-term role involves managing the strategic highway structural assets across the country, ensuring their safety, structural soundness, and serviceability in accordance with contractually defined Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

Key Duties

• Coordinate and administer all project tasks delegated by the Project Manager, ensuring compliance with inspection, preventive maintenance, and corrective maintenance requirements while achieving SLAs and KPIs without quality failures.
• Optimize the daily deployment and efficiency of all personnel related to structures, including both internal staff and subcontractors, minimizing waste and maintaining consistent performance.
• Ensure precise use of the Asset Management System (MAXIMO) by all internal and external parties involved in structure-related works, including timely and accurate closing of Work Orders and Service Requests.
• Assist the Structures Manager with deliverable management, represent the structures division in client interactions, and maintain engagement with stakeholders, subcontractors, and internal teams.
• Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary units like traffic management, lighting, highways, pavement, health, safety and environment (HSE), etc., to promote integrated and efficient network operations and maintenance.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Project Management certification along with relevant experience.
• Demonstrated expertise in operations and maintenance contracts focused on bridges and other highway infrastructure.
• Proven ability in multidisciplinary coordination, project delivery, and client relationship management.
• Strong knowledge in bridge asset management, condition assessment techniques, and lifecycle planning.
• Familiarity with Enterprise Asset Management software, ideally MAXIMO, and Bridge Management Systems such as BMS.
• Exceptional problem-solving aptitude with the capability to analyze data and design effective preventive, corrective, and capital improvement maintenance programs.
• High attention to detail, excellent multitasking ability, and a track record of delivering accurate outcomes on schedule.
• Effective communication skills encompassing technical report preparation and stakeholder engagement.
• A collaborative mindset to succeed in multidisciplinary teams and willingness to travel for meetings, site inspections, and client engagements.
