Role Overview

We are looking for a knowledgeable post-contract Quantity Surveyor based in Dubai to provide expert cost management and consultancy services on various construction projects. You will play a key role in overseeing commercial activities after contract awards to ensure cost control and value delivery.

Responsibilities

• Oversee post-contract commercial operations on developer-led projects from initial award through to final account settlement.
• Track and manage project costs including forecasting cost-to-complete and cashflow.
• Evaluate, negotiate, and agree on variations, claims, and change orders.
• Compile monthly cost reporting for internal departments and stakeholders.
• Identify and mitigate commercial and financial risks throughout project duration.
• Lead negotiations with contractors and suppliers to secure optimal commercial results.
• Administer interim payments, valuations, and finalize accounts.
• Collaborate closely with engineers, consultants, and site personnel to facilitate smooth project execution.

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or related discipline.
• Professional accreditation from recognized bodies such as RICS or AACE International is desirable.
• At least five years' experience in quantity surveying or cost consultancy, with prior work experience within the Middle East region essential.
• Proficient in cost estimation software (e.g., CostX) and strong Microsoft Excel skills.
• Excellent analytical skills with attention to numerical detail.
• Strong communication and negotiation capabilities facilitating effective interaction with clients, contractors, and team members.
• Comprehensive understanding of construction industry standards, practices, and current market pricing.
• Ability to perform under pressure and deliver within strict deadlines.
• Fluent in English.
• Experience specifically in building projects with local developers.
