Workplace Health and Safety Coordinator

Job Overview

We are seeking multiple Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) Coordinators to join the Amazon Australia team, working within the Fulfillment Center (FC) under the guidance of the WHS Manager. The role involves collaborating closely with the WHS team to uphold high safety standards throughout the FC. Candidates will receive training on standard procedures and tools utilized in the WHS function and must demonstrate strong communication skills, teamwork, proactiveness regarding safety, and professionalism while engaging with the FC workforce.

Positions are located in Kemps Creek and Horsley Park in New South Wales, Australia. This role operates on an hourly basis with varied shift patterns including day and night shifts which may rotate depending on business demands.

Primary Responsibilities

• Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly safety inspections to identify compliance issues, safety risks, and areas for improvement, informing management accordingly.
• Manage the incident investigation process efficiently.
• Maintain all necessary documentation to ensure compliance with Amazon policies and local regulatory requirements.
• Accurately enter safety incident data into the internal records system promptly.
• Perform safety audits and observations regularly.
• Provide coaching to personnel such as Area Managers to ensure adherence to safety obligations including audits, safety rules, and inspections.
• May assume additional duties related to fire prevention, hazardous waste management, or other safety functions depending on business unit and location.
• Engage in process improvements and oversee the execution of related action plans through to completion.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year experience using Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to work flexible schedules including weekends, nights, holidays, and rotate shifts or work areas as required.
• A Bachelor’s degree in a safety-related field or a Certificate IV in Workplace Health and Safety.

Preferred Experience

• Background in logistics operations.
• Familiarity with data analysis techniques.
