Job description
Overview
Amazon operates on a data-centric approach with a strong focus on metrics. The Data Analyst role is pivotal in synthesizing data from diverse sources to deliver key insights on quality defects and inventory changes. This position collaborates extensively with ICQA, Learning, and Finance units to provide analytical support.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and maintain data collection workflows and management procedures.
- Write and optimize SQL queries to retrieve and compile data for reporting.
- Visualize data effectively using charts and graphs for reporting purposes.
- Build and maintain dashboards in Amazon Quicksight to facilitate business decision-making and thorough analysis.
- Develop automation scripts in Python to enhance analysis efficiency.
- Prepare and distribute reports for periodic business reviews including weekly and quarterly updates as well as project statuses.
- Assist leadership in interpreting data patterns and trends.
- Conduct deep-dive investigations into trends in defects.
- Perform data gathering and entry tasks when required.
- Deliver analysis through standardized and digestible reports.
- Provide project support to ICQA and Learning teams.
Basic Qualifications
- Strong analytical skills paired with high attention to detail and clear communication capabilities.
- Proven experience communicating effectively with leadership, stakeholders, and across departments.
- Demonstrated ability to lead large-scale projects from inception through execution, including data gathering, modeling, problem resolution, and communicating actionable recommendations.
- Understanding of business needs and translating those into practical analytical solutions.
- Hands-on experience with AWS services including Redshift, S3, AWS Glue, EMR, Kinesis, FireHose, Lambda, and managing IAM roles and permissions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in training or deploying machine learning models to tackle large-scale optimization challenges, or expertise in technical development or support roles.
