Overview
Water plays a critical role in maintaining global health, and with increasing frequency of extreme weather events, the water sector must evolve to enhance resilience and lead proactive solutions. This position offers the chance to join a national water specialist team in Hamilton or New Plymouth, New Zealand, contributing to innovative projects that support community and environmental well-being through advanced engineering practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Investigate, design, and implement diverse projects related to stormwater, water supply, wastewater, transport, and multi-disciplinary domains.
- Build and maintain strong business connections with existing and potential clients to ensure project objectives are achieved and client satisfaction remains high.
- Produce detailed, high-quality reports, correspondence, and project deliverables as necessary.
- Engage in both office-based and onsite work, collaborating with virtual teams across national and international offices.
- Mentor and provide guidance to graduate design engineers, fostering their professional growth.
Candidate Profile
- Holds a relevant university degree in Civil Engineering with over five years of experience in similar roles.
- Familiar with industry design standards, guidelines, and practices.
- Understanding of operations within both public and private sectors.
- Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications such as Excel and Word.
- Skilled in design software including 12D, Civil3D, AutoCAD, and GIS.
- Capable of fostering teamwork and nurturing collaborative efforts within groups.
- Organized and able to multitask effectively, meeting deadlines consistently.
- Proactive with a strong sense of project ownership and accountability.
- Self-driven, energetic, and flexible when approaching challenges.
Work Environment and Culture
This role operates within a hybrid work model requiring office presence three days per week to encourage collaboration and connection in a vibrant workplace setting.
