Visual Merchandiser

Position Overview

The Visual Merchandiser at Target contributes to an exceptional guest experience by designing and maintaining compelling visual displays that align with company guidelines and standards. This role involves specialized skills in merchandising techniques, styling mannequins, fixture blocking, planogram execution, and incorporating in-store marketing elements to enhance product presentation and drive sales.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and plan daily and weekly visual merchandising tasks in alignment with sales objectives, events, and promotional activities under leadership guidance.
• Conduct routine visual assessments and collaborate with leadership to enhance store presentation and guest experience.
• Ensure consistent adherence to visual standards across the store to elevate the brand image and merchandising quality.
• Assist in implementing the company's visual merchandising strategies and In-Store Marketing throughout the relevant store areas.
• Support visual presentation execution in partnership with store leaders and adjust displays as needed to keep presentations inspiring and relevant.
• Manage lighting fixtures to highlight key product areas effectively.
• Address merchandising challenges promptly and refine visual sets to maintain an engaging retail environment.
• Utilize daily team interactions to educate team members on visual merchandising standards, signage, and affordability strategies to foster sales growth.
• Organize backroom storage efficiently and maintain updated signage tools and fixtures; set non-planogram marketing elements storewide.
• Facilitate onboarding and ongoing training to enhance team members’ visual merchandising skills and knowledge.
• Promote inclusivity by respecting diverse perspectives and fostering equitable experiences among team members and guests.
• Adhere strictly to ethical conduct, safety protocols, and compliance standards at all times.
• Create a welcoming atmosphere by greeting guests during daily tasks and offering assistance that meets their needs.
• Perform additional duties as required by business demands.

Candidate Profile and Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience of one to two years in visual merchandising preferred.
• Minimum age requirement of 18 years.
• Strong business understanding including margin and profitability concepts combined with creative flair to inspire shoppers and boost sales.
• Well-versed in current trends and styles consistent with Target's brand identity.
• Capable of leading and motivating store teams to uphold visual merchandising processes.
• Proficient in using communication devices such as handheld scanners and other technology as instructed.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
• Strong organizational skills to prioritize and manage workload effectively.
• Friendly demeanor with a commitment to providing exceptional guest and team member support.
• Excellent communication skills with resilience to perform in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.
• Willingness and ability to work varied schedules including weekends, nights, holidays, and peak shopping periods.
• Physical capability to operate equipment such as Work Assist Vehicles and pallet jacks, access all store areas, climb ladders, and handle merchandise up to specified weights safely.
• Consistent attendance and punctuality with a flexible approach to working hours.

Compensation and Benefits

The starting hourly wage ranges from $24.75 to $26.75, with a full range of $24.75 to $42.05 depending on factors like location, education, experience, and certifications.
