Role Overview

The Visual Merchandiser plays a crucial role in enhancing guests' shopping experiences by creating and maintaining visually appealing displays that adhere to company guidelines and standards. This expert position involves skills in advanced merchandising techniques, styling mannequins, fixture organization, and managing In-Store Marketing (ISM) materials.

Responsibilities

• Plan daily and weekly visual merchandising tasks aligning with sales targets, events, and promotions under leader supervision.
• Conduct regular visual assessments, collaborating with leadership to enhance store visual presentation and customer experience.
• Evaluate and steer visual standards implementation across the entire store environment.
• Assist in executing company visual merchandising strategies, visual standards, and ISM across all relevant store sections.
• Ensure the accuracy and quality of all visual presentations in partnership with store leaders.
• Adjust overhead spotlights to highlight key displays effectively.
• With guidance, troubleshoot merchandising challenges and refresh displays to maintain inspiring presentations.
• Use daily team interactions and meetings to train colleagues on visual standards, signage, and affordability strategies to boost sales.
• Maintain organized backroom spaces and manage current signage tools and fixtures; install non-planogram ISM elements storewide.
• Support team onboarding and continuous development by closing knowledge and skill gaps through training and hands-on mentoring.
• Promote inclusivity by embracing diverse viewpoints, being authentic and respectful, and fostering equitable experiences.
• Demonstrate ethical behavior, adhere to safety protocols, and ensure compliance at all times.
• Work safely and report or correct hazards as appropriate.
• Create a welcoming atmosphere by greeting guests during daily tasks and engaging with them to address their needs.

Qualifications and Skills

• High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum 1 to 2 years' experience in visual merchandising.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Strong business understanding including knowledge of margins and profitability.
• Creative eye for trends and styles aligned with the Target brand.
• Leadership abilities to influence and guide store teams in visual merchandising processes.
• Proficient in operating communication devices such as handheld scanners and other technology as needed.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
• Effective at managing workload and prioritizing tasks autonomously.
• Welcoming and helpful demeanor towards guests and team members.
• Strong communication skills and capability to remain focused in a fast-paced, multitasking environment.

Additional Requirements

• Willingness to access all store areas to assist guests or team members.
• Ability to operate Work Assist Vehicles (WAV) and pallet jacks.
• Comprehend and follow instructions, reports, and other documentation.
• Occasionally perform cash register duties accurately.
• Capable of climbing ladders safely as required.
• Ability to lift or move up to 15 pounds frequently and up to 44 pounds occasionally without additional assistance.
• Flexible availability to work varied schedules including nights, weekends, holidays, and peak periods.
• Consistently reliable and punctual attendance expected, noting that a 40-hour workweek is not guaranteed and hours may fluctuate based on business needs.
• Physical stamina to remain mobile throughout shift durations, which may vary in length.

Compensation and Benefits

The hourly pay for this role begins between $24.00 and $26.00, with a full range from $24.00 up to $40.80 per hour, depending on factors like labor market, education, experience, and certifications.
