About the Role

The Visual Merchandiser ensures that visually engaging product displays and marketing materials are set up and maintained per company guidelines to enhance guest experiences and increase sales. This role requires expertise in advanced merchandising techniques, mannequin styling, fixture blocking, and implementation of In-Store Marketing (ISM) elements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and organize daily and weekly visual merchandising tasks aligned with sales targets, promotional events, and priorities.
  • Conduct weekly assessments of in-store visual presentation and collaborate with store leaders to continually improve the guest experience.
  • Evaluate and guide adherence to visual standards throughout all store departments to elevate overall aesthetics.
  • Support execution of the company’s Visual Merchandising strategy and ISM implementation across pertinent store zones.
  • Set spotlights and other lighting to highlight important displays and product presentations.
  • Work with leaders to resolve merchandising challenges and adjust visual sets to retain inspiring looks.
  • Provide ongoing coaching and training to team members on visual standards, signage usage, and merchandising strategies during daily interactions and team huddles.
  • Maintain organization of backroom storage and keep signage tools and fixtures current; manage non-planogram ISM elements.
  • Assist with onboarding new team members and foster continuous learning to close skill and knowledge gaps through hands-on guidance.
  • Demonstrate inclusivity, respect, and ethical conduct while creating equitable employee and guest experiences.
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures; promptly report and help correct hazards.
  • Create a welcoming environment by greeting and assisting guests with their needs during routine tasks.
  • Perform other duties as required based on business needs.

Qualifications and Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 1 to 2 years’ experience in visual merchandising.
  • At least 18 years of age.
  • Strong business knowledge including margin and profitability concepts, coupled with creativity to inspire guests and drive sales.
  • Good understanding of current trends and style consistent with the Target brand.
  • Ability to lead and influence store teams to comply with visual merchandising processes.
  • Comfortable using multiple communication devices and operating scanners and other technology as directed.
  • Capable of working independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage and prioritize multiple tasks effectively.
  • Welcoming disposition with excellent communication and guest service skills.
  • Ability to maintain composure and focus in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines.
  • Physical ability to access all areas of the store, operate pallet jacks and Work Assist Vehicles, climb ladders, and regularly lift items up to 15 pounds and occasionally up to 44 pounds safely.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays with consistent attendance.

Compensation and Benefits

The starting hourly wage ranges from $22.00 to $24.00, with potential earnings up to $37.40 per hour depending on various factors including labor market conditions, education, experience, and certifications.
