About the Role

As a Visual Merchandiser at H&M, your role is to enhance a compelling and uniform shopping experience by applying visual standards and driving commercial excellence. You will be responsible for implementing visual, commercial, and styling selections in line with store guidelines, while leveraging your knowledge of current trends and competitors to inform and train colleagues. Your leadership will help foster team development and improve customer engagement.

Daily Responsibilities

  • Enhance the OMNI customer experience by adhering to prescribed visual and commercial standards.
  • Present a positive image of both yourself and the H&M brand during customer interactions.
  • Plan and organize daily tasks based on the store activation plan, adjusting as business needs evolve in partnership with Store Management and the Area Visual Manager.
  • Execute and maintain global campaigns and sale promotions promptly in line with H&M standards.
  • Monitor garment conditions and stock replenishment, providing feedback on allocation to relevant teams.
  • Analyze sales reports and collaborate with Store Management to identify and prioritize visual and commercial opportunities.
  • Develop effective strategies to increase customer satisfaction, align with sales targets, goals, and budget.
  • Adhere to operational procedures, OMNI services best practices, legal requirements, and communication standards with the store team.
  • Stay informed of fashion trends, rival brands, styles, and influential figures relevant to the fashion industry.
  • Allocate time for trend research and understand styling methods and product presentation to anticipate customer preferences.
  • Share insights on seasonal updates, trends, and in-store communication with the store team.
  • Coach and enhance store teams' visual and commercial skills to maintain high standards.
  • Establish daily routines and best practices that support consistent visual and commercial execution alongside excellent customer service.
  • Mentor new employees and develop team talent through onboarding and upskilling programs.
  • Complete visual and commercial training aligned with regional and market learning objectives.
  • Assist Sales Market and Area teams with store expansion projects as needed.
  • Implement visual and commercial styling based on the commercial calendar and store plans as per guidelines.
  • Manage sample picking practices to ensure display of clear trends and stories.
  • Ensure windows and styling reflect visual and commercial standards to create an inspiring shopping environment.
  • Maintain commercial layouts and fixtures to optimize product placement and customer flow.
  • Ensure price signage complies with global strategy and local requirements.
  • Work with Facilities Management to maintain appropriate lighting for product displays.
  • Care for display fixtures sustainably, keeping store navigation updated and POS material well-stocked.
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety in sales and back-of-house areas according to guidelines.

Candidate Profile

  • You are creative, curious, proactive, flexible, and possess strong communication skills to collaborate effectively.
  • You have a passion for fashion and some leadership experience, with the ability to apply visual and commercial expertise in a dynamic setting.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving ability to improve product presentation and retail execution.
  • Familiarity with visual, commercial, and operational best practices and tools.
  • Skill in analyzing sales data and acting upon it to influence visual merchandising.

Additional Details

The expected annual salary range is between 42900 and 49335 Canadian dollars; final compensation may vary based on qualifications.

This position is listed as non-exempt and paid annually.
