Visual Merchandiser

About the Role

As a Visual Merchandiser at H&M in Ponce, Puerto Rico, you will play a key role in creating an engaging, cohesive, and elevated customer experience by adhering to visual standards and commercial excellence. You will be responsible for delivering the store's visual, commercial, and styling presentations in line with defined guidelines, while also sharing your knowledge of fashion trends and competitors. Your role will include coaching and developing the store team to enhance the overall customer experience.

Typical Daily Activities

Your workdays will bring variety but typically include:

• Supporting the total OMNI customer journey by implementing the store's visual and commercial strategy.
• Representing the H&M brand positively when interacting with customers.
• Planning and organizing tasks according to the store activation calendar and coordinating with store management and area visual leaders.
• Executing launch and upkeep of global campaigns and sales activities punctually per brand standards.
• Ensuring garment care quality, maintaining stock levels, and providing insights on stock allocation to management.
• Following up on sales key performance indicators and collaborating to spot and prioritize visual and commercial improvement areas.
• Creating targeted actions that boost customer satisfaction, sales targets, and store objectives, working alongside management.
• Adhering to operational routines, legal requirements, and communication standards related to OMNI services within the store.

Fashion and Trend Insight

• Stay current on fashion trends, competitors, brands, influencers, and styles relevant to your role.
• Dedicate time to understanding trend theory, mood boards, styling methods, and presentation techniques to anticipate and meet customer expectations.

Team Leadership and Development

• Inspire and educate store colleagues about seasonal updates, trends, visual, and commercial information including pricing.
• Coach the team on visual and commercial skills to maintain high-quality product and presentation standards.
• Support and establish daily routine best practices ensuring consistent visual and commercial standards alongside excellent customer service.
• Identify and nurture talent, delivering onboarding and ongoing training for new and existing team members.
• Organize and participate in upskilling on visual and commercial competencies including compulsory training based on regional and sales market goals.
• Assist area and sales market teams during store expansions or projects as needed.

Visual and Commercial Implementation

• Bring to life visual and commercial styling plans aligned with commercial calendars and trend insights, utilizing visual and commercial guidelines.
• Implement best practices for sample selection and stockroom management to create clear, engaging trend stories.
• Ensure windows and styling displays follow set guidelines to inspire customers and align with commercial goals.
• Maintain optimal customer flow by managing store layouts and fixtures according to trend story priorities.
• Manage pricing sign balance across the store consistent with global strategy and market requirements.
• Collaborate with Facilities Management to guarantee proper lighting for highlighting products and displays.
• Care for display materials and fixtures with sustainability considerations.
• Work with Area Visual Managers to keep store navigation current and updated as per the latest layouts.
• Ensure adequate stock of promotional material and sales activity assets in line with local procedures.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe sales floor and back-of-house area following security standards.

Compensation and Benefits

The expected base pay for this role ranges from $16.50 to $18.98 per hour, classified as non-exempt hourly pay.
