Video Annotator

Role Overview

The Global Talent Co. seeks meticulous Video Annotators to contribute to a Vision-Language-Action dataset project. Your main task will be to review short clips of various physical activities and segment them into distinct events. For each segment, you'll generate clear and precise natural language descriptions capturing the actions occurring.

Primary Duties

• Thoroughly watch assigned videos prior to annotation to grasp the overall activity and context.
• Divide videos into logical, discrete steps based on visible action boundaries.
• Craft concise, grammatically sound step-by-step instructions accurately reflecting the on-screen actions.
• Ensure all annotations emphasize actions, remain unambiguous, and maintain consistent tense, tone, and phrasing throughout the dataset.
• Provide exact start and end timestamps for each identified segment.
• Adhere closely to the project's annotation guidelines, taxonomies, and style manuals.
• Identify and flag any videos that are unclear, corrupted, mislabeled, or inappropriate for annotation.
• Engage in calibration exercises and incorporate feedback from reviewers and quality assurance to enhance annotation quality and uniformity.
• Achieve daily and weekly productivity and quality benchmarks without sacrificing accuracy.
• Maintain strict confidentiality regarding all project-related data and materials.

Essential Qualifications

• Proficiency in English at C1 level (CEFR) or higher, with a firm grasp of grammar, vocabulary, and sentence structure.
• Exceptional attention to detail, with ability to detect subtle visual changes in footage.
• Strong written communication skills to clearly and concisely describe actions.
• Comfortable using video annotation tools and software; training will be provided.
• Ability to work independently, follow detailed instructions, and sustain consistency during repetitive tasks.
• Reliable internet connection and access to a computer with an updated web browser.
• Basic computer skills including file management, web applications, and spreadsheets.

Preferred Experience

• Previous work in data annotation, labeling, transcription, or content moderation roles.
• Familiarity with artificial intelligence and machine learning concepts, especially in computer vision, natural language processing, or robotics datasets.
• Experience writing instructional documents such as manuals, standard operating procedures, or recipes.
• Prior exposure to annotation platforms like CVAT, Label Studio, Scale, or similar tools.
