Video Annotator

About the Role

The Global Talent Co. is seeking meticulous Video Annotators to contribute to a Vision-Language-Action (VLA) dataset project. In this position, you will carefully watch brief video clips depicting various physical actions and create detailed event-level annotations. This involves breaking down each video into distinct steps and composing clear, precise natural language descriptions that capture the activity in each segment.

Key Responsibilities

• View each assigned video thoroughly to grasp the overall task and context before starting annotations.
• Break down videos into discrete, logical action segments based on visible task boundaries.
• Compose clear, concise, and grammatically accurate step-by-step instructions that accurately reflect the actions shown on screen.
• Ensure annotations are focused on actions, unambiguous, and consistent in style, tense, and tone across all entries.
• Mark accurate start and end times for every segment.
• Adhere strictly to project-specific annotation guidelines, taxonomies, and style manuals.
• Report any videos that are unclear, corrupted, mislabeled, or otherwise inappropriate for annotation.
• Engage in calibration sessions and use feedback from reviewers and quality assurance teams to enhance annotation accuracy and uniformity.
• Consistently achieve set daily and weekly quality and productivity goals without sacrificing precision.
• Maintain strict confidentiality of all project-related data and materials.

Essential Qualifications

• Strong English skills at C1 level or above on the CEFR scale, demonstrating excellent grammar, vocabulary, and sentence construction capabilities.
• Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to notice subtle visual changes in videos.
• Proven written communication skills, particularly in describing actions succinctly and clearly.
• Comfortable using video annotation tools and software (training will be provided).
• Ability to work autonomously, reliably follow comprehensive guidelines, and sustain consistency during repetitive work.
• Dependable internet access and a computer equipped with a modern web browser.
• Basic familiarity with computers, including file management, online tools, and spreadsheets.

Preferred Experience

• Previous involvement in annotation, data labeling, transcription, or content moderation work.
• Understanding of artificial intelligence and machine learning concepts, particularly related to computer vision, natural language processing, or robotics datasets.
• Experience drafting procedural or instructional writing such as how-to manuals, standard operating procedures, or recipes.
• Exposure to common annotation platforms like CVAT, Label Studio, Scale, or equivalent systems.
