Video Annotator

Role Overview

The Global Talent Co. is seeking meticulous Video Annotators to contribute to a Vision-Language-Action (VLA) dataset initiative. This fully remote, full-time role involves viewing brief video clips showcasing physical tasks and segmenting them into well-defined steps accompanied by clear, precise natural language descriptions of the depicted actions.

Key Responsibilities

• Watch assigned videos completely to grasp the overall task and context before beginning annotation.
• Divide each video into distinct, logical segments based on observable action transitions.
• Craft concise, accurate, and grammatically correct step-by-step explanations that precisely describe the actions shown in each segment.
• Maintain annotations that are action-oriented, unambiguous, and consistent in terms of tense, tone, and phrasing throughout the dataset.
• Label each segment with precise start and end time stamps.
• Adhere to given annotation guidelines, taxonomies, and style manuals provided by the project team.
• Report videos that are unclear, corrupted, mislabeled, or unsuitable for annotation.
• Engage in calibration sessions and actively incorporate reviewer and quality assurance feedback to enhance annotation quality and consistency.
• Achieve daily and weekly targets regarding productivity and quality without sacrificing accuracy.
• Maintain strict confidentiality regarding all project-related data and materials.

Required Qualifications

• English proficiency at C1 level or higher (CEFR) with strong grammar, vocabulary, and sentence formulation skills.
• Keen attention to detail and ability to detect subtle visual changes in scenes.
• Excellent written communication skills for concise and precise action descriptions.
• Comfortable working with video tools and annotation software; training will be provided.
• Capable of working independently while following detailed instructions and sustaining consistency during repetitive annotation tasks.
• Access to a reliable internet connection and a computer with a modern web browser.
• Basic computer skills, including managing files, web-based tools, and spreadsheets.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in data annotation, labeling, transcription, or content moderation.
• Familiarity with artificial intelligence and machine learning concepts, particularly in computer vision, natural language processing, or robotics datasets.
• Experience in writing instructional or procedural content such as guides, standard operating procedures, or recipes.
• Exposure to annotation platforms like CVAT, Label Studio, Scale, or similar software.
