Role Overview

The Vehicle Inspector will be a key member of the vehicle operations team responsible for assessing and processing incoming cars. This role ensures each vehicle meets Clutch’s strict quality benchmarks before it proceeds for reconditioning or sales. The inspector documents vehicle condition, identifies deficiencies, and coordinates with other teams to streamline vehicle handling.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform detailed inspections of vehicles upon arrival, checking for damage, cleanliness, and mechanical issues.
  • Identify and report any issues that deviate from established quality standards.
  • Safely maneuver cars within the lot by moving, starting, and parking them as needed.
  • Record inspection results accurately using checklists and digital tools.
  • Work closely with reconditioning, detailing, and mechanical teams to prioritize vehicle flow efficiently.
  • Carry out basic troubleshooting for minor vehicle problems.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in work areas while adhering to all safety protocols.

Candidate Profile

  • Exceptional attention to detail with strong process adherence.
  • Comfortable working outdoors through various seasons.
  • Possesses or is willing to develop basic automotive knowledge.
  • Holds a valid G2 or higher driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Capable of operating automatic vehicles; manual transmission driving skills are an advantage.
  • Comfortable using tablets or basic computer programs.
  • Reliable, cooperative team player ready to assist where necessary.
  • Available for a full-time, 40-hour workweek including possible overtime based on business demand.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in automotive, logistics, or warehouse roles is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with Google Sheets or similar digital tools.
  • Ability to drive manual transmission vehicles is a plus.

  • Wage: $20.00 per hour
  • Permanent full-time position with overtime potential
