Position Overview
We are seeking an Auto Body Estimator to join our reconditioning facility team in Enfield, Nova Scotia. This role is pivotal in ensuring repair estimates for vehicles are precise, repair scheduling is efficient, and consistent communication is maintained between repair shops and internal departments to ensure timely vehicle delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess vehicle damage through photos and accurately estimate repair costs, measured by accuracy, volume, and turnaround speed.
- Coordinate with repair facilities to gather quotes, pricing information, and service details.
- Arrange repair appointments for vehicles requiring service.
- Manage and process repair service invoices efficiently.
- Provide updates to management on repairs and scheduling via calls and emails.
- Handle a high volume of estimates and appointments in a dynamic work environment.
- Keep detailed records on estimates, appointments, and communications.
- Follow up to ensure repair deadlines and schedules are met.
- Detect and resolve issues or gaps in communication between repair shops and management.
- Utilize internal communication and workflow tools such as email, Google Drive, and Slack for task tracking.
Education and Qualifications
- Completion of high school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong computer literacy and familiarity with workflow and communication tools.
- Excellent customer service skills with professional communication abilities.
- A valid Class 5 driver’s license.
- Legal authorization to work in Canada.
- Ability to commute to the Enfield, Nova Scotia location.
- Commitment to a full-time schedule of 40 hours weekly, with availability for overtime as needed.
Preferred Experience
- Previous experience in administrative, customer service, or automotive support roles.
- Knowledge of automotive repair terminology or operations of repair shops.
- Experience working with scheduling, workflow, or task management software.
Work Environment and Skills
- On-site role within a vehicle reconditioning facility.
- Requires attention to detail, strong multitasking, and organizational skills.
- Regular interaction with management, vendors, and internal teams is expected.
- Ability to identify and escalate issues related to scheduling, estimates, or invoicing.
- A professional and approachable demeanor in communications.
- Balance between independent administrative work and collaborative team efforts.
