Job Overview

USIC, a leading company in underground utility damage prevention and advanced infrastructure services, is seeking dedicated Utility Locators to join their team in Green Bay, WI. This role involves independent, outdoor field work, focusing on accurately locating underground utilities such as telecommunications, electric, gas, water, and sewer systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Locate underground utilities efficiently and safely, marking their positions accurately in designated areas.
  • Complete necessary documentation and capture photographs of each locate for record-keeping.
  • Operate independently in the field using company vehicles and advanced ticket and claims management systems.
  • Meet turnaround times of 48 hours for many locates, which may require working on holidays, weekends, overtime, and on-call shifts including nights.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Comfortable working outdoors in varied weather conditions; prior outdoor work experience is beneficial.
  • Technologically proficient to use company-provided equipment effectively.
  • Willing and able to work flexible hours including overtime, weekends, and on-call shifts.
  • Must pass a drug screening due to the safety-sensitive nature of the job.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license with a good driving record.
  • Physical ability to work in confined spaces, walk, bend, and lift up to 75 pounds.
  • Capable of distinguishing colors used for wiring and utility marking.
  • Competent in reading and understanding locate tickets, maps, and prints.
  • Effective communication skills for interaction with colleagues, clients, contractors, and homeowners.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Starting pay rate of $21.00 per hour with potential raises up to 5% at four, eight, and twelve months.
