About the Role

Join Star Construction LLC as a Utility Locator, where your main task is to identify and mark underground utilities using flags and paint. This role is vital to maintaining safety and efficiency on various projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Utilize specialized detection equipment to locate underground utilities, seeking assistance from experienced colleagues when necessary
• Interpret utility maps accurately to find the correct underground lines
• Maintain detailed records of all location activities
• Respond swiftly and courteously to excavation inquiries
• Maintain clear communication with excavators, utility representatives, and company personnel
• Perform light digging with a shovel when required
• Be prepared for overtime, travel commitments, and after-hours or on-call duties as needed
• Carry out tasks in varying weather conditions

Qualifications and Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Authorized to work in the United States for this employer
• Possess a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent relevant work background
• Hold a valid State driver’s license (non-provisional) with a clean driving record

Physical Demands and Workplace Conditions

• Frequently work independently in remote sites with frequent arm elevation, vehicle operation, fine hand movements, bending, stooping, standing, walking, lifting up to 55 pounds, and computer use
• Occasionally use portable ladders, work in confined spaces, and climb stairs
