Locator I

About the Role

As a Locator at Star Construction LLC, your primary task will be to identify and mark underground utilities using flags and paint, playing a critical role in maintaining safety and efficiency on project sites.

Responsibilities

• Use detection devices to locate subterranean utilities, consulting experienced Locators when needed.
• Interpret utility maps accurately to identify underground utility placements.
• Maintain detailed records of all locates performed.
• Respond quickly and professionally to excavation notifications.
• Engage effectively with excavators, utility representatives, and internal team members.
• Use a shovel for light digging tasks as required.
• Be available for overtime, travel, and on-call or after-hours duties as needed.
• Perform work under various weather conditions.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Authorized to work in the U.S. for this employer.
• Possess a High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent relevant work experience.
• Hold a valid state driver's license (excluding provisional licenses) with an acceptable driving record.

Physical Demands

• Regularly work alone in remote areas with tasks requiring arm movement above shoulder level, driving, bending, standing, walking, lifting up to 55 pounds, and basic computer use.
• Occasionally use portable ladders, navigate confined spaces, and climb stairs.
