About the Role

At AIG, we are innovating the ways we support customers in managing their risks. Join us as an Underwriting Associate and contribute to this transformation by developing your expertise and becoming a valued member of our team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate extensively with underwriters across several profit centres and coordinate with internal teams and external service providers to support the quotation, binding, and issuance operations throughout the entire policy lifecycle.
  • Serve as the primary onshore topic expert supporting the full policy process.
  • Liaise directly with external customers to follow up on and clarify policy closings.
  • Work alongside internal collections departments to resolve unallocated cash discrepancies.
  • Ensure strict compliance with internal governance, policies, and regulatory standards.
  • Participate in operational audits as well as disaster recovery and business continuity drills as needed.

Candidate Requirements

  • Previous experience as an underwriting associate within the general insurance sector.
  • Familiarity with commercial lines insurance products is highly beneficial.
  • Proactive ability to recognize and address needs of both internal and external clients.
  • Proficient skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Capacity to juggle multiple tasks effectively while meeting customer expectations.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, both written and verbal, in English.
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Capable of collaborating successfully with diverse groups and constituencies.
  • Established relationship management expertise.
