This senior-level position involves providing second-line risk advisory support across the Pacific businesses, ensuring the effective execution, ongoing monitoring, and continuous improvement of enterprise risk management processes and frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver senior Line 2 risk advisory services, offering practical guidance and constructive feedback to business functions.
• Assist stakeholders with interpreting and implementing AIG’s risk frameworks, policies, standards, control measures, and risk appetite guidelines.
• Lead or support essential ERM activities including risk and control assessments, issue monitoring, event management, governance inputs, and risk reporting.
• Track the risk profile and emerging risks, escalating concerns and driving the prompt resolution of remediation actions.
• Collaborate with business units to enhance risk ownership, governance discipline, and encourage risk-informed decision-making.
• Create clear and insightful risk communications and reports for senior leadership, governance boards, and committees.
• Work towards improving ERM processes, tools, and reporting mechanisms to foster consistency and transparency across the Pacific region.
• Contribute to regulatory, audit, and assurance activities by providing valuable risk insights and supporting management in responding to audit findings.

Qualifications & Experience

• Extensive background in enterprise risk management, operational risk, governance, regulatory compliance, or related risk functions within general insurance.
• Proven ability to act as a trusted senior risk partner, effectively influencing and challenging stakeholders while facilitating practical risk-based decisions.
• In-depth knowledge of risk management frameworks, risk appetite setting, issue and event management, control environments, governance, and risk reporting.
• Experience working with regulated general insurance markets in the Pacific, with understanding of prudential, conduct, and governance standards.
• Demonstrated skill in delivering pragmatic and commercially aware risk advice while maintaining appropriate independence and escalation practices.
• Strong organizational skills to juggle competing priorities, track progress, and meet deadlines.
• Advanced analytical and judgement capabilities for identifying risk trends, assessing impacts, and communicating complex issues clearly to senior audiences.
• Collaborative, structured approach with high integrity and sound judgement, comfortable engaging across local, regional, and global stakeholders.
• A genuine passion for risk management and desire to deliver meaningful impact.
