About the Role and Company

Located at one of AIG's offices in London, Dublin, Reston VA, or Charlotte NC, this position plays a critical role within AIG's Information Security Office, part of the Enterprise Security Architecture team. AIG leverages innovative technology to support insurance underwriting and claims processing, focusing on security to protect enterprise systems while driving business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain comprehensive workforce and customer Identity and Access Management (IAM/CIAM) strategies alongside target architectures.
• Create and govern multi-year transformation roadmaps including transition stages and sequencing.
• Collaborate with domain leads and architects to define projects and transformation initiatives in IAM.
• Translate capability gaps and risk exposures into structured, funded enterprise initiatives aligned with company priorities.
• Establish clear architectural guardrails and outcome measures to ensure measurable improvements in control and risk reduction.
• Provide architectural governance, including standards, design reviews, and exception management for identity initiatives.
• Ensure alignment with enterprise security architecture, risk appetite, and regulatory requirements.

Delivery and Engagement

Ownership involves strategic development of project charters detailing business rationale, risk reduction objectives, scope, success metrics, dependencies, sequencing, and alignment with funding governance. The role requires governance of identity programs through the ISO PMO and partnership with operational and engineering teams to maintain architectural coherence and value delivery.

Technical Focus Areas

• Define and manage identity and access architecture, controls, standards, principles, and design patterns for workforce and customer IAM, including emerging tech implications such as Agentic AI and autonomous systems.
• Lead phishing-resistant and passwordless authentication strategies using FIDO2/WebAuthn, device-bound authentication, and platform authenticators.
• Develop endpoint trust models with endpoint teams focusing on device posture and conditional access integration.
• Continuously evaluate identity technologies for optimization and Return on Security Investment (ROSI), ensuring alignment of spending with measurable risk and control outcomes.
• Shape IAM sourcing and operating models, including architecture-led evaluation criteria and service governance.
• Provide oversight for system integrators and consultancies, ensuring designs comply with enterprise and industry frameworks such as SABSA, TOGAF, NIST, and ISO/IEC.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Extensive expertise in cybersecurity and identity architecture, including enterprise-level transformation and strategy development for IAM/CIAM.
• Proven ability to develop target-state architectures and roadmaps and incorporate them into project and program charters for portfolio governance.
• Experience collaborating with PMO and program governance teams.
• Proven skills in working with system integrators and consultancies, providing architectural oversight and design authority.
• Strong familiarity with workforce and customer identity solutions such as Microsoft Entra ID, hybrid Active Directory, Intune, Windows Hello for Business, Okta, SailPoint IdentityIQ, and HYPR.
• Knowledge of regulatory and industry frameworks like NIST and ISO/IEC, using control-driven design methods in highly regulated environments.
• Excellent stakeholder management and executive-level communication skills to elucidate risk-value trade-offs and support decision-making.
