Job Overview
As a Cyber Underwriter at AIG, your primary goal is to drive net earned premium (NPW) growth and enhance profitability for the Financial Institutions portfolio through outstanding underwriting proficiency. You will have underwriting authority suited for large, complex risks. This role also involves business development, broker interaction, leadership in thought, product innovation, and mentoring junior underwriters.
Primary Responsibilities
- Perform underwriting within delegated limits, conducting thorough risk evaluations considering loss control, claims history, and risk management factors.
- Use risk logging, worksheets, and rating tools effectively.
- Offer technical underwriting support and mentorship to junior underwriters in line with regional strategies and guidelines.
- Ensure compliance with underwriting rules, ART, and referral processes.
- Analyze financial data of Financial Institutions clients to monitor ongoing performance.
- Represent the GCCNA region on the EMEA Financial Institutions Committee as the FI GCCNA Leader.
- Manage the Financial Institutions portfolio across GCCNA, focused on sustaining profitable growth and advising leadership on potential adjustments.
- Collaborate closely with EMEA FI leadership on strategy, guidelines, and product development matters.
- Provide accurate reporting and estimates as needed.
- Work with Sales and Marketing to foster market relationships, supporting new business acquisition and client retention.
- Help refine product offerings tailored to specific client groups.
- Maintain awareness of market developments and trends.
- Engage proactively with distribution channels to provide technical assistance for business growth initiatives within branches.
- Identify opportunities to enhance cross-selling and synergy with other profit centers.
- Develop and maintain strong personal and professional relations with clients and brokers in GCCNA.
- Represent AIG’s Financial Lines and overall brand across the GCCNA region as appropriate.
- Meet internal service level agreements to ensure operational efficiency and high customer service standards.
- Comply with audit and regulatory requirements across the portfolio.
- Effectively manage expenses within budget, finding efficiencies and streamlining processes to improve productivity.
