Turf Maintainer

About the Role

The City of Rockingham, a rapidly expanding local government area located 40 km south of Perth CBD, is looking to hire a dedicated Turf Maintenance Officer to join its Parks Services unit. This full-time position involves hands-on maintenance of parks, reserves, and streetscapes including mowing, edging, whipper snipping, and other turf care responsibilities. The role operates on a typical 38-hour workweek.

Responsibilities

• Maintain parks, reserves, and streetscape areas through operating various turf maintenance equipment safely and effectively.
• Perform tasks such as mowing, edging, and whipper snipping according to daily schedules.
• Handle the upkeep, safe operation, and routine maintenance of turf equipment including ride-on mowers.
• Work either independently or collaboratively within a small team environment, maintaining a focus on high-quality service delivery.

Requirements

• Possession of a valid Construction Industry Training White Card.
• Capability to work independently under direction and the flexibility to collaborate within a team.
• Comply with Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) industry standards and obligations.
• Proven experience in operating and maintaining parks or garden-related plant and equipment safely.

Terms and Conditions

• This is a permanent, full-time role averaging 38 hours per week on site at the City of Rockingham.
• The remuneration package includes a gross weekly wage of $1,466 covering all allowances and penalty rates.
• Superannuation benefit of 12% with an option to co-contribute an additional 5%.
