Role Overview
This position is a full-time, on-site Maintenance Worker role based at Blackrock Cottage in Salthill, Galway. The individual will perform routine property inspections, respond to maintenance requests, and execute general repair tasks to uphold a secure and well-maintained setting. Daily duties involve using both hand and power tools to manage minor carpentry and plumbing jobs, conducting simple equipment inspections, and applying preventive maintenance schedules. The role also includes monitoring building systems, working with management to prioritize repairs, upkeep of indoor and outdoor spaces, and assisting in renovation or improvement efforts, all while ensuring adherence to safety regulations.
Qualifications and Experience
- Strong knowledge of equipment and preventive maintenance to ensure reliable operation of building systems and fixtures.
- Proficiency in handling power tools and general hand tools for daily repairs and upkeep.
- Basic carpentry skills to address repairs involving doors, fixtures, and furnishings.
- Fundamental plumbing knowledge for minor repairs, leak detection, and maintenance of water systems.
- Clear understanding and consistent application of health and safety guidelines.
- Ability to independently troubleshoot issues, prioritize workloads, and manage time efficiently.
- Prior experience in building, facilities, or property maintenance is highly desirable.
- Reliable, organized, with effective communication abilities for collaboration with colleagues and management.
