About the Role
Join Queensland Rail as a permanent Trackworker supporting the track team responsible for maintenance operations between Rosewood and Miles based in Toowoomba. This hands-on role involves physical labour such as replacing railway sleepers and maintaining track infrastructure in various weather conditions, often working outdoors across regional areas.
Responsibilities
- Assist with repairing and maintaining railway track infrastructure.
- Conduct outdoor physical labour, including flood damage repair and emergency response work.
- Ensure all tasks are completed safely, efficiently, and in line with established protocols.
Candidate Profile
- Recent experience in manual handling or physical labour roles is preferred.
- Ability to work cooperatively as part of a team with good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong dedication to workplace safety.
- Willingness and ability to travel within Regional Queensland.
- Flexibility to work overtime and weekends as required.
Benefits and Training
- Potential total earnings up to $85,000 annually, including 12.75% superannuation and penalty rates, with a base salary of $69,000.
- A 9-day fortnight schedule generally from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm.
- Paid travel time including expenses and accommodation when travelling for work.
- Opportunity to complete Certificate II and III in Rail Infrastructure - Track.
- Provision of all personal protective equipment (PPE) and necessary tools.
- Additional training opportunities such as First Aid certification, High Risk Work Licences (DG and LF), and Working Safely at Heights qualification.
- Four weeks of annual leave entitlement.
- Uniforms supplied and meal allowances provided during work away periods.
- Secure depot parking available for personal vehicles during work assignments away from home base.
