About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Toolmaker to join a fast-growing company located in Ystrad Mynach, CF82. The role involves working regular day shifts onsite, with no shift work required. This position is ideal for candidates with a solid background in toolmaking specific to the plastics industry. The successful applicant will contribute to the introduction of new processes and machinery within the business.

Key Responsibilities

• Repair and modify existing production tooling as necessary to maintain operational standards.
• Fabricate new injection mould tools based on technical drawings and 3D CAD data, ensuring high-quality workmanship in a cost-efficient manner.
• Service and maintain production tooling according to scheduled maintenance plans.
• Safely operate all toolroom machinery and equipment, consistently using proper protective gear.
• Identify and suggest improvements for tooling or processes for review by the Technical Manager.
• Proactively recommend ways to enhance productivity and operational efficiency.
• Maintain good housekeeping within the work environment.

Candidate Requirements

• Qualified plastic injection mould toolmaker.
• Experience working with CNC machinery.
• Familiarity with CAD/CAM software.
• Capability to work on fully hardened steel production tools.
• Experience with hot runner systems, valve gates, and manifolds.
• Ability to train and develop apprentices within the toolroom setting.
