Toolmaker

Overview

We are looking for a talented and meticulous Toolmaker to become a part of our fast-paced manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be accountable for the crafting, upkeep, and repair of precise tools, dies, jigs, fixtures, and molds essential to production. This role requires mechanical expertise to guarantee that all tooling operates efficiently and adheres to rigorous quality requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and adapt tools, dies, jigs, fixtures, and molds employing different machining methods including grinding, milling, and welding.
• Analyze technical blueprints and CAD models, particularly those produced with SolidWorks or equivalent software, to fabricate exact tooling parts.
• Use hand and power tools safely and appropriately for assembling and adjusting tooling apparatus.
• Conduct routine maintenance and inspection on tools to maintain optimal functionality and prolong lifespan.
• Work collaboratively with engineering and production teams to resolve tooling challenges and propose enhancements.
• Apply basic mathematical calculations for measuring, tolerance assessments, and dimensional verification during fabrication.
• Support the plastics injection molding process by crafting or fixing molds customized for specific product needs.

Qualifications & Expectations

• Demonstrated experience as a Toolmaker or an equivalent role in a manufacturing environment.
• Skilled in grinding, milling, welding, and competent in the use of hand and power tools.
• Solid mechanical understanding, capable to interpret technical drawings and CAD files accurately.
• Familiar with SolidWorks or similar CAD platforms for designing and modifying tooling elements.
• Understanding of plastics injection molding techniques and mold upkeep is advantageous.
• Proficient in performing accurate basic math for measurements and tolerances.
• Experience with working on tooling materials including metals and plastics.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving ability with an emphasis on precision, quality, and safety compliance.
