Role Overview & Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out thorough audits following the defined audit schedules, including planning, execution, documentation, and reporting activities under the supervision of the Group Lead – Internal Audits.
  • Gather and evaluate business intelligence such as MIS data, management review presentations, and past audit outcomes to grasp process workflows and identify major risks, facilitating precise scope setting.
  • Conduct in-depth validations, walkthroughs of processes, and system-based audits on platforms like SAP to detect deviations from policies and ensure adherence to SOPs and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure audit documentation is complete, logically arranged, traceable, and supports the audit conclusions for current and future reference.
  • Draft and disseminate audit reports detailing risk analysis, root cause identification, corrective action proposals, and comprehensive annexures; coordinate closely with relevant stakeholders to communicate findings effectively.
  • Follow up on unresolved audit observations to promote sustainable rectification, escalating issues when necessary to audit leadership.
  • Manage the audit team's performance through goal-setting, mentoring, cross-training, schedule planning, and collaboration with HR for recruitment and staff development.
  • Enhance team motivation and expertise by facilitating knowledge sharing, supporting certification pursuits like CIA and CISA, and implementing professional growth initiatives.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Chemistry, or related disciplines is essential.
  • Postgraduate qualification in Quality Management, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a similar field is advantageous.
  • Preferred certifications include Certified GMP Professional (CGP), Certified Quality Auditor (CQA), or equivalents.
  • At least eight years of relevant professional experience.

Skills and Competencies

  • Expertise in internal audits, internal controls, and pharmaceutical manufacturing regulations.
  • Strong abilities in data analysis, fraud detection, and compliance management.
  • Experience in preparing comprehensive audit reports with actionable insights.
  • Proficiency in project management, legal aspects related to pharma sector, regulatory compliance, and ERP systems.
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities to inspire, communicate, and uphold performance standards within teams.
  • Critical thinking skills to apply analytical reasoning, identify causes, and provide impactful recommendations.
  • Effective collaboration and influencing capacity to align audit outcomes with broader organizational goals.

Preferred Experience

  • Three or more years in Quality Assurance or Regulatory Compliance roles are favored.
  • Mandatory experience designing and executing audit plans targeting GMP compliance.
  • Familiarity with risk assessment and identifying compliance gaps relevant to manufacturing processes such as APIs, sterile products, and packaging.
  • Knowledge of GMP regulations from agencies like FDA, EMA, WHO, and capability to align company practices accordingly.
