Telecom Technician

Overview

We are seeking a skilled Telecom Technician to perform installation, testing, commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting of telecom and Extra Low Voltage (ELV) systems. The role includes hands-on work with CCTV, Access Control, Fire & Gas detection systems, and related equipment while adhering to safety and project standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, test, commission, maintain, and troubleshoot telecom and ELV systems.
• Set up and service CCTV, Access Control, Fire & Gas detection systems and associated devices.
• Conduct cable laying, termination, cable dressing, testing, and basic fault identification tasks.
• Assist in configuring, testing, and commissioning systems as required.
• Interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and system layouts accurately.
• Perform regular inspections and preventive maintenance on installed systems.
• Collaborate with supervisors, engineers, and other site personnel to accomplish tasks timely and efficiently.
• Keep detailed records of installations, testing, maintenance, and other site activities.
• Follow all Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) guidelines and comply with project requirements to ensure a safe work environment.

Qualifications and Experience

• 3 to 5 years of practical experience as a Telecom or ELV Technician.
• Proven hands-on expertise with CCTV, Access Control, Fire & Gas systems, and telecom/ELV installations.
• Competency in installation, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of low-current systems.
• Prior involvement in Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Industrial, or EPC projects is advantageous.
• Experience working in Ras Laffan is considered a plus.
• Strong ability to understand and work from technical drawings, cabling, and wiring schemes.
• Solid familiarity with HSE standards and industrial site operational procedures.
• Good problem-solving abilities and team collaboration skills.
