Technician / Senior Technician - Automation

Role Overview

The Automation Technician is tasked with maintaining and troubleshooting plant automation machinery, conducting preventive upkeep, and supporting engineers in continuous enhancements and inventory management of spare parts.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair failures involving plant automation equipment, such as Autonomous Mobile Robots, Automated Strapping/Unstrapping Devices, Material Handling Systems, Overhead Transport Systems, Automated Storage & Retrieval Systems, and Automated Packing Machines.
• Independently or with IT support, address fundamental computer hardware and software problems.
• Execute system and server recovery on various automated and manufacturing platforms, including storage and transportation systems and command centers.
• Assist with software rollouts, as well as routine operating system and antivirus patching/updating of systems and servers.
• Provide basic operational and troubleshooting training to equipment operators.
• Carry out critical inspections, restorations, and preventive maintenance of automation equipment.
• Support engineers in implementing equipment improvement initiatives and managing spare parts inventory.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum diploma or equivalent qualification in Mechatronics, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
• Experience ranging from 3 to 5 years working with automation equipment.
• Alternatively, Higher NITEC or NITEC certificate holders with no less than 5 years of relevant experience may also apply.
• Strong teamwork abilities with capacity to work autonomously.
• Good interpersonal communication, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Enthusiastic learner with quick skill acquisition.
• Prepared to work 12-hour permanent day or night shifts.
• Ability to commit to a 24-month contract, with possibility of renewal.

Additional Information

• Working hours consist of 12-hour shifts: either 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM. During the probation period, office hours are from 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM or as supervised for shift transition.
• Overtime compensation includes: 1.5 times pay for off days; rest day pay varies based on hours worked; public holiday pay includes additional compensations for working on those days.
• Annual leave entitlement increases with service years: 10 days in the 1st year, rising to 17 days beyond the 15th year.
• Includes 1 wellbeing leave day per year and 14 non-hospitalisation leave days annually.
• Hospitalization leave allowance totals 60 working days per year, inclusive of non-hospitalisation leave.
• Company provides transportation for shift workers with designated pick-up points.
