Technical Director - Electrical

About the Role

James L Williams Middle East is looking for a seasoned Technical Director specializing in Electrical Engineering to strategically lead and manage our engineering division. This leadership position entails overseeing the Electrical Design Team engaged in sophisticated, multidisciplinary projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and direction for all engineering and technical operations related to projects.
• Supervise complex design and construction initiatives involving multiple disciplines.
• Ensure all engineering processes comply with international standards and the regulatory requirements of UAE local authorities.
• Oversee and manage engineering budgets and actively support procurement procedures and project execution.
• Conduct thorough reviews and approvals of technical submittals, shop drawings, and the selection of major equipment.
• Act as a company representative during meetings with clients and regulatory authorities.
• Mentor and facilitate the growth of engineering personnel, fostering a culture of technical excellence.
• Contribute to business development efforts with a keen commercial perspective.

Qualifications and Experience

• Possess a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Building Services Engineering.
• Have a minimum of 15 years of experience in MEP or building services engineering sectors.
• Demonstrate proven leadership capabilities in challenging and complex engineering environments.
• In-depth knowledge of international engineering codes and regulations enforced by UAE authorities.
• Exhibit strong commercial acumen paired with excellent stakeholder management skills.
• Experience in leading multidisciplinary engineering teams effectively.
• Proficient in English, both written and verbal, for business communications.
