Teaching Assistant

Role Overview

We are seeking energic and proactive Teaching Assistants to join secondary schools in West Kirby (CH48). Successful candidates will be confident, approachable, and able to maintain focus and calm among 11 to 16-year-old students, fostering an environment conducive to learning.

Responsibilities

• Provide academic, social, and emotional support to pupils aged 11 to 16 across key subjects.
• Work individually or with small targeted groups to maintain student engagement and focus.
• Assist teachers in marking standardized worksheets and tracking daily student efforts.
• Observe and manage classroom dynamics to ensure a safe, productive, and respectful atmosphere.
• Establish positive and professional relationships with pupils to enhance their confidence in the classroom.

Candidate Requirements

• Experience working with teenagers through settings such as schools, youth work, sports coaching, or tutoring is highly valued.
• Possession of an Enhanced DBS certificate on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one immediately.
