Senior Town Planner / Associate Town Planner

Role Overview

We are partnered with a respected independent planning consultancy located in Banbury seeking a Senior Town Planner or Associate Town Planner. This position offers the chance to contribute to a diverse portfolio of projects spanning residential, commercial, mixed-use developments, strategic land, and rural schemes. The consultancy is known for its high-quality planning advice and forward-thinking approach.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a diverse range of planning applications, appeals, and proposals for development.
• Provide strategic planning guidance to clients across public and private sectors.
• Compile planning appraisals, reports, and other essential documentation.
• Develop and maintain robust relationships with clients, local authorities, and other stakeholders.
• Assist in business development activities and help identify new opportunities.
• Guide and mentor junior planners within the team, especially at Senior/Associate level.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Membership of the RTPI or progression toward chartered status is necessary.
• Demonstrated background in either planning consultancy or local government planning roles.
• Comprehensive understanding of the UK planning system and related policies.
• Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
• Commercially aware with a proactive stance on client relationship management.
• Experience in business development and team leadership is preferred for Associate level applicants.
